Michael enlisted in the Marine Corps back in 2012. After leaving service, he set out to follow his other childhood dream, being a cowboy. He competed in rodeo, riding bulls everywhere from Arkansas to California and even Hawaii. He worked on various ranches throughout Oahu, Arkansas and Texas. He is a skilled horse trainer and huge advocate for veterans and first responders, especially in regards to mental health.
He launched Second Chance Rehabilitation Ranch in 2019 to help veterans and first responders heal through nature, giving them a “second chance” at life after service. In 2023, Michael received his service dog Levi to assist him with his needs. Levi sparked a curiosity in Michael to learn more about dogs, being a better handler, and ultimately seek out guidance on training dogs.
Michael loves training dogs to be outstanding members of the family while teaching owners how to understand and communicate with their canine companions effectively. He enjoys training protection dogs to protect their owners from potential trouble and is even more passionate about helping train service dogs for veterans and others in need of the unbreakable bond of having a service dog companion.
Michael brings the same energy, focus and problem-solving ability which helped him fix multi-million dollar aircraft and train horses to his work as a dog trainer. He is dedicated and focused on helping dogs reach their full potential while exceeding the expectations of their owners.
